April L. Ford is the author of the novel ‘Carousel’, winner of the International Book Awards for LGBTQ Fiction, and the story collection ‘The Poor Children’, winner of the SFWP Literary Awards for fiction. Her work has received the Pushcart Prize and has appeared in literary journals across North America and Europe, including Grain, Ploughshares, new madrid, and the lascaux review.

Before returning to Montreal, Ford taught creative writing at the State University of New York at Oneonta and held writing residencies at the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts and Ucross Foundation. She now teaches in high school programs adapted for students with autism, intellectual disabilities, and behavioral challenges.
